The Game and Tyga headed back to the ‘hood for Christmas. The hometown heroes played Santa Claus as they passed out presents to kids during a toy drive in their old neighborhood of Compton on Friday.
Meek Mill’s album doesn’t drop until October 30, but it’s already received the stamp of approval from Jay-Z. The Philly rapper played his debut Dreams and Nightmares for his idol this week and shared his reaction.
“Letting #hov & @_youngchris listen 2 #dreamsandnightmares wen hov tell ya shit hot….it’s hot!” he tweeted.
The Maybach Music MC is confident that he’s made an album that will go down in hip-hop history. “A lot of people been shying away from the real rapping and hip-hop. I’m really representing,” he told WiLD 94.9. “When I come out with my album, I want to have a classic album, an Illmatic, a Hard Knock Life, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ type of album.”
Last month, he released the single “Young and Gettin It”featuring Kirko Bangz and recently shot a video for “Burn” with Big Sean.
Hip-hop and sports all-stars joined Jay-Z at the launch of NBA 2K13 at the 40/40 club in New York City. Clad in camouflage, Mr. Carter held court with Nas, Kevin Durant, and Derrick Rose, while Meek Mill got the crowd amped with his MMG hits. Other star sightings included Bow Wow, Bridget Kelly, Adrienne Bailon, Irv Gotti, Kris Humphries, and Tracy Morgan.
“Look how far we came!!!!” tweeted Meek, who snapped a photo alongside his idols Nas and Jay-Z.
